Master<\/span><\/b> continues its commitment to reduce the environmental impact of its products. In recent years, the group has instigated the process of <\/span>LCA<\/span><\/b> (Life Cycle Assessment) and renewed its voluntary agreement with the<\/span> Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security<\/span><\/b> to reduce its carbon footprint. Initially undertaken solely to calculate the GWP100 (Global Warming Potential at 100 years) of every component, from this year the project has been expanded to other categories of impact, in order to obtain <\/span>EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification\u00a0<\/span><\/b> in compliance with <\/span>The International EPD\u00ae System of the<\/span><\/b> International EPD Programme Operator, AB<\/span><\/b>. To date the company has obtained <\/span>EPD certification<\/span><\/b> for over <\/span>600 items<\/span><\/b>, covering <\/span>all its product lines<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

EPD, the acronym of Environmental Product Declaration, is an internationally recognised environmental certification<\/span><\/b>. It confirms a company\u2019s commitment to monitoring and reducing the environmental impact of its products, and reporting these in a totally transparent way. With an <\/span>EPD certificate,<\/span><\/b> producers report <\/span>data that is comparable<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>objective <\/span><\/b>and <\/span>verifiable by third parties<\/span><\/b> which covers all aspects of the environmental performance of their products. Certification can be requested for all products; in particular, Master carried out a study on the basis of specific criteria for the certification of window accessories stipulated in the law <\/span>EN 17610:2022 Building Hardware<\/span><\/b> \u2013 Environmental Product Declarations \u2013 Product category rules complementary <\/span>to EN 15804 for building\u202fhardware<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, in Italy, EPD-certified construction materials are acknowledged in public tender processes, in accordance with the decree on <\/span>CAM (minimum environmental criteria)<\/span><\/b>\u201c.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
