Master Italy – ALsistem together for the realisation of spectacular sliding systems of Villa Ra, an international project by studio Morq in the Gulf of Squillace

Windows of the World is the specialist program of Master dedicated to the international architecture projects based on Master accessories, across more than 50 Countries in the World since 2010. Today our trip around the world stops in Italy in Squillace Gulf more exactly at Villa Ra, a residence realised by the designers of the international architecture studio Morq with offices in Rome and Perth.

Villa Ra is an expression of the owners’ desire to return to nature, it seems to belong to the place where it was designed: an isolated area of 300 metres above sea level on the slopes overlooking the sea of Calabria. The fundamental idea of the work was to create ‘a house that looks at nature’, characterised by very large openings onto the green countryside and the sea.

“The collaboration with Master was born in this way”- theese are the words of Ivano De Simone, technical director of the ALsistem group. “We had to create large sliding openings that offered maximum space for light and the outside view, combined with made-in-Italy design and quality. We were able to do this thanks to PANORAMICO, our sliding door system with large glasses, equipped with rollers with a load capacity of up to 500 kg and locking systems by Master Italy. Thanks to the collaboration with our local distributor Sidertre – Alsistem Calabria and the precious help of So.Mer Sas di Gregorio e Stefano Mercurio & C. experts doors and windows makers, we created for Villa Ra a sliding door measuring 9.75 x 2.20 metres with 3 sashes, the largest in the house and the one that, besides, frames the Gulf of Squillace”.

“The sliding systems realised for this important International architectural project, represent the perfect synthesis between the search for minimalism in design and high performance in terms of tightness to atmospheric agents and acoustic insulation,” are the words of Massimo Demarinis, Italy Sales Area Manager of the Master Group, “without overlooking a fundamental feature for this type of closing system, such as smoothness of sliding and movements. These performance characteristics of our accessories, combined with the minimalism of ALsistem profiles have been the key elements for the choice of our accessories”.
